Shiv Sena-Congress Alliance Triumphs in Mumbai 2024 Elections, Secures Four Key Constituencies

Mumbai, 6th June 2024: In the Mumbai 2024 Elections, Uddhav Thackeray’s Shiv Sena, in alliance with the Congress, clinched victories in four out of six significant constituencies. Shiv Sena (UBT) secured the Mumbai South, Mumbai South Central, and Mumbai North East seats, while the Congress emerged triumphant in Mumbai North Central. Meanwhile, the BJP and Eknath Shinde’s Shiv Sena alliance secured wins in Mumbai North and Mumbai North West.

Among notable winners, Union Minister Piyush Goyal claimed victory in Mumbai North, while Congress candidate Gaikwad Varsha Eknath won the Mumbai North Central seat, defeating BJP’s Ujwal Nikam. Sanjay Dina Patil, representing Uddhav Thackeray’s Shiv Sena, also emerged victorious in the Mumbai North-East constituency.

For context, the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) coalition in Maharashtra comprises the Congress, Shiv Sena (UBT), and the Sharad Pawar-led faction of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP). Conversely, the ruling alliance includes the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Shiv Sena, and the NCP led by Ajit Pawar.
