Naval Officer Arrested in Mumbai for Alleged Involvement in Illegal Immigration Scam

Mumbai, 29th June 2024: In Mumbai, a Naval officer, identified as Lt Cdr Vipin Kumar Dagar (28), was apprehended by the Crime Branch on Thursday from Colaba on charges of forging documents to facilitate illegal immigration to South Korea, according to a police spokesperson on Friday. Dagar is suspected to be involved with a syndicate that illegally sent individuals to South Korea using falsified documents.

According to the police official, Dagar’s associates have reportedly admitted to arranging the illegal travel of 8-10 people to South Korea, charging fees ranging up to Rs 10 lakh per case. Dagar, who hails from Haryana and is the son of an Air Force official, has been remanded in police custody until July 5 for further investigation.
