Four Applicants Booked in Thane for Attempting Drug Use During Police Recruitment

Thane, 2nd July 2024: Police in Thane district, Maharashtra, have filed cases against four individuals for allegedly attempting to use stimulants during a field test for the police recruitment process, officials reported on Tuesday.

According to an official statement, the field tests and physical examinations for police job applicants took place in the Mira Bhayander area from June 24 to July 1. During these tests, personnel from the Anti-Narcotics Cell discovered three candidates in possession of injection syringes containing a stimulant on June 28. Another candidate was found with a similar substance during the test on June 30.

Following medical examinations of the four individuals, cases were registered against them on June 28 and 30 at the Mira Road police station under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Drugs and Cosmetics Act.
