Fatal Fire Tragedy Strikes Thane: One Dead in Residential Building Blaze

Thane, 12th June 2024: In the early hours of Wednesday, a significant fire engulfed an apartment in a 27-story residential building in Thane, Maharashtra. Tragically, a 47-year-old man lost his life in the incident, according to municipal officials.

Yasin Tadvi, the chief of Thane Municipal Corporation’s disaster management cell, reported that the fire ignited at 3:11 am within an apartment on the fourth floor of Tulsidham Society.

Upon receiving notification of the fire, fire brigade personnel from Balkum and the regional disaster management cell promptly responded to the scene.

Rescuers discovered Arun Kedia unconscious in a room of the flat. Despite efforts to revive him, he was pronounced dead upon arrival at a nearby hospital.

Fortunately, four other occupants of the residence, including two minors, were successfully rescued from the building.

The fire caused extensive damage to the rooms and household belongings, including furniture. Firefighters managed to extinguish the blaze by 4:22 am.

Following the outbreak of the fire, residents of the building evacuated promptly. An investigation into the cause of the fire is currently underway.
