74 Lakhs Cigarette Sticks Destroyed By Mumbai Customs Valued at Rs. 10.60 Crore

Mumbai, 26th June 2024: In a significant operation on June 25, 2024, the Airport Commissionerate of Mumbai Customs Zone III conducted the destruction of a substantial quantity of confiscated goods. The event, held at the Mumbai Waste Management Limited facility in Taloja, saw the disposal of 10,000 kilograms of seized cigarettes, e-cigarettes, and tobacco/gutkha. This amounted to approximately 74 lakh sticks, valued at Rs. 10.60 crore. The operation underscores the authorities’ commitment to combatting illicit trade and ensuring public health and safety.
